About Greyhounds

In many ways, Greyhounds are the perfect dog.

During our racing days, we come into constant contact with other dogs and trainers, making us friendly, social and non-aggressive. We're quiet, calm, intelligent and affectionate, and we love human companionship. You'll also be pleased to find that we have little-to-no doggy odour and are often good choices for people with allergies because of our low dander levels.

Greyhound Quick Facts:

• Males are 26 – 30 inches tall
• Females are 23 – 26 inches tall
• Males are 65 - 85 pounds
• Females are 50 – 65 pounds
• 12 – 15 year lifespan
• Eat 2 – 4 cups of dry food a day
• Fine, short hair that sheds very little
• Come in many colours – brindle, black, white, fawn or any combination
